Drunken mum crashed car near police station while FOUR times over limit

A woman crashed her son’s car outside a police complex after a whisky drinking binge.

The driver was close to being four times above the limit when she ran into the back of a parked car at 11am.

Five hours earlier she had sneaked into her son’s bedroom while he was sleeping and took his keys, a judge was told at Manchester magistrates’ court.

District Judge Mark Hadfield spared sending Murphy, of Gorton Street, Peel Green, Eccles to prison because of her family commitments.

This was her second conviction in ten years for drink driving, as well as aggravated vehicle taking and driving with no insurance.

The judge sentenced her to 12 weeks imprisonment suspended for a year, 150 hours of unpaid work and a three-year ban.
