“There would have been several centimetres of snow falling during the day, perhaps up to 8cm or 9cm,” said Tom Tobler, a forecaster at the MeteoGroup.

Accidents caused by a snowy road surface

Snowy road surfaces are dangerous for any driver, regardless of their circumstances and if you are faced with snowy driving conditions then it’s essential that you take the appropriate precautions to ensure your own safety and the safety of your passengers throughout this time.

The Council has a responsibility to ensure that all roads are well-maintained at all times and if you feel that they have failed to do this as a result of their own negligence and you have been injured on a snow-covered road as a result, then you could look to make a compensation claim.
