Person hit by a train between Ashton-under-Lyne and Stalybridge

A person has been hit by a train between Ashton-under-Lyne and Stalybridge.

An advisor from Northern Rail said that the incident happened on a Huddersfield bound service from Manchester Victoria, just before 7pm on Thursday evening.

The condition of the person is unknown.

In a statement on their website, Network Rail said: "A person has been hit by a train between Ashton-under-Lyne and Stalybridge meaning trains are currently unable to run between Manchester Victoria and Stalybridge."
