Three men charged after Bolton car crash left boy in critical condition

Police have charged three men in Bolton after a collision left a boy of 12 fighting for his life in hospital.

The incident occurred on St Helen's Road in Daubhill, Bolton, after two cars, both Vauxhall Astras, had been driving along the road before colliding with a BMW 320.

One of the vehicles then left the road and collided with the boy and a man of 50 as they were walking past. Both had been left needing hospital treatment.

Police said the boy is now showing signs of improvement and is in a serious but stable condition. The man remains in a stable condition.

Sgt Danny Byrne said: “As a result of our inquiries, we have now charged three people. We understand how emotional and distressing this incident has been, not just for the families of everyone involved but across the wider community, and we will continue our inquiries to establish all the facts before this matter goes before a court.

Mohammed Vohra, 20, of Mancroft Avenue, Bolton, has been charged with perverting the course of justice.

Mohammed Usman Patel, 20, of Leech Street, Bolton, has been charged with perverting the course of justice, causing serious injury by dangerous driving, driving while disqualified and driving without insurance.

Furqaan Mohmed, 19, of Gibbon Street, Bolton, has been charged with two counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
