Assault and Hit and Run at Charnock Richard Services in Chorley

Police reported that “The security guard had swelling to the side of his head and the man who collided with the car had…injuries to his arms and legs.”

The two incidents may have been related. Apparently the man injured by the vehicle was taking down the number plate of a car following the assault of the security guard. The driver of the car apparently “deliberately” drove into the man.

A 32 year old man from Blackpool has subsequently been charged with dangerous driving and failure to stop after an accident. Two other men, aged 19 and 21 respectively, also from Blackpool , have been released on police bail on an assault charge.

Criminal Injury Compensation

What happened to these men was criminal injury as they both were violent crimes against persons. If you have also been a victim of a violent crime in England, Scotland or Wales within the last two years and sustained injuries, then you may qualify for financial compensation.

It may be that the crime that caused your injury happened more than two years ago. If it was not reasonable for you to look for compensation until now, then we may still be able to help you.

What Can I Claim For?

Victims of violent crime, which includes sexual assault or abuse, can claim for the following:

  • Physical injury;
  • Long term health problems;
  • Loss of a loved one;
  • Psychological illness;
  • Loss of earnings;
  • Damage to possessions.

If you find yourself enduring these difficult experiences through being an innocent victim of violent crime, you may be entitled to financial compensation between £1000 and £500,000.

You may still be eligible for this even if the criminal who caused you this damage has not been caught.
