Compensation for Transverse Fracture at Work

Accidents in the workplace are quite common around the UK and although there are relatively strict health and safety guidelines to govern how a workplace should operate for the safety of their staff, unfortunately in some situations this does very little to prevent injuries and accidents from happening. If you are the victim of a trip, slip or fall in the workplace then chances are that you will sustain a fracture and the most common type of fracture you could sustain is a transverse fracture.

Being injured in the workplace can be an incredibly traumatising experience and if you have been left with injuries through the negligence of another person then you could be eligible to make a compensation claim to recoup any financial damages that you have sustained as a result.

What are some symptoms of a Transverse Fracture?

A transverse fracture is perhaps the best known of any type of fracture and results from clean break of the limb or bone. This break occurs directly at a 90 degree angle to the bone and leaves the bone in two or more parts. Transverse fractures are often the easiest of any fracture to heal as they do not require complicated surgery, rather in most circumstances they can be fixed by simply fusing the two segments of the bone back together.

How could I sustain a Transverse Fracture in the workplace?

There are a number of situations in the workplace where you could be left with a transverse fracture and some common examples of these include:

  • Injuries sustained through slips and trips
  • Injuries sustained through falls from height
  • Injuries sustained through the lack of appropriate safety equipment
  • Injuries sustained through poorly maintained machinery
  • Injuries caused by another employee.
